Two people were electrocuted on a waterlogged road in Chattogram’s Katalganj area on Monday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Hossain and Abu Taher.

“The incident happened when the deceased touched an electrical wire which was submerged in water,” Panchlaish Model police station Officer-in-Charge Nazim Uddin Majumder said.

Heavy rains overnight have caused waterlogging in various parts of Chattogram city. The downpour paired with high tide has led to water overflowing various canals.

Roads, houses, shops, and the ground floor of offices have been submerged and the misery of the locals has been exacerbated.
