Two top officials of Kashimpur Central Jail-1, Senior Jail Superintendent Ratna Roy and Jailer Nur Mohammad Mridha, were withdrawn on Sunday over allegations of taking bribe from Hallmark Group's general manager Tushar Ahmed, an inmate there, and allowing him to meet a woman in a prison official's cabin on January 6.

They have been withdrawn for the sake of proper inquiry into this matter, said Gazipur Deputy Commissioner MM Tariqul Islam.

So far, four prison staff members have been withdrawn in connection to the incident that became public after a TV channel aired the CCTV footage in a report.

The other three people withdrawn earlier are -- Deputy Jailor Saklain, Sergeant Instructor Md Abdul Bari and Assistant Chief Jailor Md Khalilur Rahman.

In the CCTV security footage of January 6, Hallmark GM Tushar could be seen wandering near the prison offices. After a short while, a woman was seen entering the prison grounds, whom Deputy Jailor Saklain received at the entrance and escorted to his office.

After some time, Saklain left the office and return after about 10 minutes with Tushar. Senior Jail Super Ratna Roy was also present in the official's room at the time.

Saklain later again left his office leaving only Tushar and the woman in the room for about 45 minutes.
