Two killed in oil tanker fire in Patenga 

At least two people were killed and three injured in a fire that broke out on an oil tanker anchored at the jetty of the Karnafuli river at Patenga port in Chattogram on Thursday.

While in the jetty, the tanker's engine room caught fire at around 7:00am.

Two units of the fire service managed to douse the fire after two hours of effort.

The identities of the casualties were not immediately known and the extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.

Chittagong Port Secretary Omar Faruk said the tanker was transporting oil on domestic routes.
