Two shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at a market in the city’s Gulistan area in the early hours of Saturday.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
“The fire broke out at a shop in Baitusshamir Market around 5:00am and engulfed an adjacent shop,” Fire Service and Civil Defence Warehouse inspector Anwarul Islam said.
On information, five firefighting units were pressed into the service and the blaze was brought under control in an hour, he said.
