Two vegetable traders were killed on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway of Mymensingh's Bhaluka upazila Friday morning after a pickup van rammed a truck, police said.

The deceased Abdus Sattar, 30, was from the Maskanda precinct of Mymensingh city and Sajjad Hossain, 28, was from the Chandgaon, Netrakona.

Riad Mahmud, in-charge of Bhaluka Highway Police Outpost, said the accident occurred early in the morning when a vegetable-laden pickup van crashed into a truck in the Bhoradova, killing Sattar and Sajjad on the spot.

"The pickup van driver fled the scene after the accident. The bodies have been kept at the police outpost and will be handed over to the deceased's families after the completion of legal procedures," Riad said.
