The recognition of February 21 as the International Mother Language Day by the United Nations was the stepping stones to forging a Bangalee independent nation state which offsets the illegitimacy of establishing Pakistan on the basis of religion or two-nation theory, said Jasad.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) President Hasanul Haq Inu and General Secretary Shirin Akhter said this in a joint statement on Monday ahead of the Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day.

They said through the Language Movement, Bangalee nation got the way of light, breaking the shackles of the two-nation theory's darkness and it was established as a united political nation on the basis of Bangalee nationalism.

The Jasad leaders paid homage to those who played a vital role in earning the UN recognition for February 21.

They reiterated that they will continue their efforts to take ahead the struggle to build a non-communal democratic state for all invigorated with the spirit of Amar Ekushey.
