The father of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam, who suffered injuries along with his daughter during an attack in Dinajpur recently, has been taken to National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital in Dhaka Saturday night for better treatment.

An ambulance of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) carried him to the capital city.

Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Director Dr Faridul Islam Chowdhury and Wahida’s brother Sheikh Farid Uddin confirmed the information to The Business Post.

65-year-old Omar Ali Sheikh is currently unable to move as the lower part of his body has gone numb, said the physician.

Omar Ali and his daughter UNO Wahida were seriously injured in an attack carried out by miscreants at their residence on the Ghoraghat Upazila Parishad premises in Dinajpur on September 3.

They were initially taken to the RMCH.

Later, the UNO was airlifted to Dhaka. She is currently undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital.
