In a significant step towards promoting gender diversity in the aviation sector, Update College and Glorious Professional Academy signed a memorandum of understanding at the Borak Corporate Office in Dhaka on Sunday.
This collaboration aims to inspire and prepare young women for careers in aviation within the country.
Under the terms of this agreement, the two organisations will establish and operate an aviation training centre.
This centre will provide specialised training to empower aspiring young women to pursue careers as cabin crew / flight attendants with domestic and international airlines. The training programmes will incorporate cutting-edge methodologies, aligning with the rising global demand for aviation professionals.
This initiative marks the introduction of Bangladesh's first aptitude-based training workshop, designed to prepare women for the aviation sector, which is witnessing increasing demand worldwide.
Major (Retd) Nasimul Haque, Senior General Manager of Unique Group, signed the MOU on behalf of Update College, and Wing Commander (Retd) Syed Ahmed Kabir, on behalf of Glorious Professional Academy. Both parties emphasised the importance of skill-based learning and urged all stakeholders to contribute to the success of the training center.
Syed Sanwarul Haque, Group CEO of Unique Group, Saiful Islam, Principal of Update College, and Air Vice Marshal (Retd) M Syed Hossain, Adviser of Glorious Academy were also present at the ceremony.
