A fire that broke out at Syed Grand Centre in Dhaka’s Uttara area was doused after nearly three and a half hours Wednesday morning.
The fire was doused around 6:45am, confirmed Warehouse Inspector (media cell) Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
“The fire broke out on the 6th, 7th and 8th floors of the building around 1:18am and spread soon. Twenty-four firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze around 4:40am, Anwarul Islam said.
Two firefighters had minor injuries while extinguishing the fire.
The extent of the loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
