Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Monday said the government will start inoculating students aged above 12 after receiving approval from the World Health Organization.

“We have already applied to WHO seeking approval over the vaccination of students aged between 12 and 18. Some countries are administering the students of the age bracket following their own protocol,” he told the media after the cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile, the government started vaccinating teachers while many students also received their jabs, the minister said.

The country will get 2 crore doses of Sinopharm vaccine and 50 lakh of Pfizer this month which will expedite the vaccination activities, he added.
