Vaccine freezers catch fire in Barguna

Two freezers used for storing Covid-19 vaccines caught fire at the civil surgeon’s office in Barguna on Friday.

‎‎The fire broke out at around 5:30am, confirmed ‎Barguna Fire Service Station Officer Khorshed Alam.‎

However, he said the two freezers did not have any vaccines in them at the time of the fire.

The fire is believed to have originated from an electric short circuit.‎

A five-member inquiry committee has been formed to probe into the matter, said Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr Maria Hassan.
