Two freezers used for storing Covid-19 vaccines caught fire at the civil surgeon’s office in Barguna on Friday.
The fire broke out at around 5:30am, confirmed Barguna Fire Service Station Officer Khorshed Alam.
However, he said the two freezers did not have any vaccines in them at the time of the fire.
The fire is believed to have originated from an electric short circuit.
A five-member inquiry committee has been formed to probe into the matter, said Barguna Civil Surgeon Dr Maria Hassan.
