Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that a vested quarter has been spreading fictional propaganda over the coronavirus issue against the government.
Quader made the remarks at a relief distribution programme through video conferencing at the Awami League president's political office in Dhanmondi on Friday (May 15).
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set an example as the 'crisis manager' in the coronavirus situation which is unprecedented in the post-75 history of the country.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said it is being circulated that all of them who have died in the country recently were infected by the coronavirus.
“After the examination, it is seen that some of them tested positive and the others negative for the virus. But many people are lying about these deaths,” he said.
He said a national and international quarter is trying to mislead the people by running propaganda and rumours on the social media by twisting the facts.
