Virtual court proceedings begin at SC

After a four-month pause, a full bench of the Supreme Court's (SC) Appellate Division began judicial functions virtually from Monday (July 13). SC’s Appellate Division proceedings were held virtually for the first time in history today.

The six-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, began proceedings around 10:00am on the day.

"The virtual court system needs to be taken forward,” said chief justice during court proceedings. Five other members of the Appellate Division also welcomed the decision to begin virtual court proceedings.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Supreme Court Bar Association President Advocate AM Amin Uddin were also present during court proceedings.
