Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud said on Sunday that the voting has turned into festivity and enthusiasm as people rejected BNP-Jamaat's evil efforts of foiling the election.

"A festive mood has been prevailing cantering the ongoing election and the polls are being held in a peaceful manner," he told reporters after casting vote at Sukhbilash High School Centre in Padua union of Ranguniya upazila of the district.

The ruling party leader said voting is a festival in the country. All evil efforts of BNP and Jamaat cantering the election have faded away due to the festive environment, reports BSS.

Hasan said BNP and Jamaat became the opponent of the countrymen as the people have joined the vote festival enthusiastically.

He hopes that Awami League would bag a landslide victory and Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be elected as the prime minister for the fifth time.

Hasan said the voting is being held in his constituency amid huge enthusiasm. “It is not only in my constituency but people of the country are exercising franchise with great enthusiasm.”
