State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said a proposal to be given to the Argentine government for bringing the FIFA World Cup Trophy to Bangladesh.
"All are still in an enthusiastic and joyous mood still now. We have received demands repeatedly to bring the Argentine Word cup trophy to Bangladesh," he told journalists after attending a ceremony for opening Ansar-VDP Model Building at Bagha Upazila in the district on Wednesday.
Shahriar Alam said they will also give the proposal to the Argentine government to send the trophy through delegation as the Argentine players are now very busy.
Replying to a question, the state minister said that Argentina is very much impressed after witnessing the Bangladeshi supporters' massive enthusiasm for Argentine Football.
The country has taken the decision of opening an embassy in Bangladesh. Perhaps, the process will start very soon, he added.
Shahriar Alam also said the Bangladeshi joy and enthusiasm has drawn attention to the Argentine government during their matches and its foreign minister sent a tweet message to the Bangladeshi Government promptly.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the Argentine president congratulating him on Monday.
In reply early this morning, the Argentine president made a tweet. Very soon, he intends to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina besides bolstering the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The Argentine president said they are very much interested in hastening the process of opening their embassy in Bangladesh.
State Minister Shahriar Alam said the Bangladesh government is very much positive about launching the embassy as early as possible.
