Westin, Sheraton host Christmas Kids Party

On the occasion of Christmas, an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, the air was filled with the melodies of carols as The Westin Dhaka and Sheraton Dhaka came alive with festive celebrations.

Both the hotels hosted Christmas Kids Party, featuring Santa Claus, indoor games, whimsical rides, Christmas treats, creative competitions, VR shows, and stalls on Monday.

Christmas Day, observed on December 25, is a universally cherished and joyous event. The day is celebrated with the glitter of decorations, the glow of lights, and the delightful scent of Christmas delicacies, creating an enchanting ambiance.

Whether through age-old traditions, a joyful carol or the anticipation of Santa Claus Christmas fosters a feeling of unity, generosity, and benevolence, rendering it a genuinely unique and heartening celebration for individuals of each age group.

Just like every year, The Westin Dhaka organised Christmas Kids Party at Westin Ballroom and Splash, powered by Yoyoso and sponsored by Savoy, Pepsi, Babuland, Diamond World, Revello, and Square.

The event promised a spectacular Christmas experience with a variety of activities for kids, including Magic and Puppet Shows, a mascot show, gaming zones like Jumping Castle, Ball Pool, Merry Go Round, movies, art competitions, cupcake contests, photo booths, and a special appearance by Santa Claus, who distributed chocolates and gifts.

Syeda Faica Fareea, Marketing Communications Manager of The Westin Dhaka, expressed excitement, saying, "We have so much to offer to the kids, and having fun is the biggest gain for us. Every year we try to do something new."

Preparations for the Christmas event at The Westin began in the second week of December with the entire hotel adorned in festive decorations.

Faica also said, "We have also hosted a Christmas Brunch and Dinner at Seasonal Tastes along with a gourmet 6-course set dinner at Prego."

Santa Claus himself extended warm wishes, saying, "Oh, oh, oh, so welcome, and wishing you a Merry Christmas."

The event received positive feedback from attendees, with one of them expressing, "We feel good, and children are enjoying here. There are many food arrangements and rides. Everything seems very nice here."

Sheraton Dhaka, on the other hand, organised a Christmas Kids Carnival at the Grand Ballroom, featuring Santa Claus, Christmas delights, indoor games and rides, stalls, creative competitions, magic and puppet shows, and many merry surprises.

The carnival, sponsored by Yoyoso, Savoy, Pepsi, Babuland, and Revello, aimed to provide a joyous and memorable experience for kids and their families.

Iskandar Raju, the cluster director of sales at Sheraton, emphasised the non-commercial nature of the party, focusing on children enjoying quality time with their families.

The carnival offered a range of activities, including movies, magic shows, puppet shows, dance performances, treasure hunts, art competitions, cupcake competitions, and so on.

Shihab, a guest, commended the event, stating, "It is a very good event. Children are very excited. There are opportunities for games, and rides for all age groups of children. Such an outing is a good initiative."

Guests appreciated the variety of activities, with one of them expressing, "I feel very happy. I come only for the kids. They enjoy it a lot. It is so colourful like a rainbow. We come every time with our families."

Manwara Suruj, a retired government employee, highlighted the need for similar opportunities for ordinary middle-class and lower middle-class children. Despite the joyous atmosphere, she expressed a hint of sadness, hoping that the authorities concerned would consider providing such facilities for them.

Toufiq Limon, coordinator at the Embassy of France in Dhaka, attended the event with his niece Taifa Manha.

Taifa shared, "I really like it here, and I’ve been here many times before. I like the Balloon House and DIY Station the most."

Throughout this festive time, everyone shares love, happiness, and good wishes, creating cherished memories for families and children alike.
