Where rain and waterlogging go hand-in-hand

Keeping pace with the time, Dhaka has witnessed so many developments in the last few decades. But the city’s residents still don’t see any respite from waterlogging, one of the core problems of the capital during the monsoon months.

Even moderate rainfall still causes knee-to-waist deep water in city thoroughfares.

Fixing the waterlogging problem has been a common promise of all electoral manifestos for years.

On Tuesday evening, Dhaka along with some other parts of the country recorded a moderate shower. But the short spell of rain caused a huge suffering to Dhaka people as some major roads were inundated in stagnant water.

Normal activities got greatly hampered as vehicles and commuters were struggling to move forward.
