A case has been filed against a woman and her husband on charges of killing the woman's mother, father and sister in Dhaka's Kadamtali area.
The case was filed against Mehzabin Islam and her husband Shafiqul Islam by Sakhawat Hossain, brother of the deceased Masud Rana on Saturday night.
Mir Jamaluddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kadamtali police station, confirmed the matter on Sunday.
Mehzabin, daughter of slain Masud Rana, has already been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident, he said.
Mehzabin's husband Shafiqul, another accused in the case, could not be interrogated as he was ill, the OC added.
Shah Iftekhar Ahmed, deputy commissioner (DC) of Wari division police, said Mehzabin was a self-confessed killer. She told police that she was very angry with her parents, sister and husband as she suspected an illicit relationship between her husband and her sister.
Police recovered three bodies of the family on Saturday from the Kadamtali area of the capital.
The deceased were identified as Masud Rana, 50, his wife Mousumi Islam, 40, and their daughter Jannatul, 20.
Shafiqul was also found in critical condition in the house.
