A woman in institutional quarantine in a Sylhet hotel was allegedly sexually harassed by an employee on Thursday night.
Police said that they have arrested Noorjahan Grand Hotel employee Shahin for harassing the woman at about 11:00 pm on the night.
The victim came to Sylhet by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight in the morning on Thursday and checked in at the hotel for mandatory 14-day quarantine.
Quoting police, daily Amader Somoy reports Shahin knocked at the door of the victim and attempted to sexually harass her.
Upon hearing the scream of the victim, local people rushed to the spot and rescued her. They detained Shahin and handed him over to police.
Officer- in-Charge of Kotwali police station SM Abu Forhad said that they informed the matter to the deputy commissioner of Sylhet for appropriate action.
The process of filing a case against Shahin is underway, said the OC.
