A journalist has received death threats allegedly from the followers of Rajarbag Peer.
The victim—Farah Bilkis, senior report at Nagorik Television—issued a General Diary (GD) with Hatijheel Police Station on Wednesday regarding this.
According to the GD, On August 23 and 24, she broadcast a report on Rajarbagh Peer Dillur Rahman and his followers. While making that report, the followers of Rajarbagh Peer stopped them from taking the footage. The followers also visited her office (Nagorik TV) so that the report would not be broadcast. The peer followers asked her not to broadcast the report through Whatsapp. Besides, her Facebook account was hacked soon after the report was published. Since then, she has been threatened by the peer’s followers.
In this regard, Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) condemned and protested against the threat to journalists.
