A woman was raped allegedly by six activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League at the hostel of Murari Chand College in Sylhet last night.
Sources said that a group of men took the woman and her husband – who were visiting the college – to the college hostel, where they tied up the husband and raped the woman last night.
The name of the activists are Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Mahfuzur Rahman Masum, Saifur Rahman,Arjun, Robiul and Tareq.
Later, police rescued the rape victim and her husband and sent the victim to the One-stop Crisis Centre at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital around 12:10am.
Officer-in-Charge of Shahporan Police Station Qayyum Chowdhury of Sylhet confirmed the news to The Business Post.
He said that police are trying their best to arrest the perpetrators.
