Workshop held on smart transformation of PFM services

A workshop on smart service transformation, process design and information was held in Rajshahi to implement the pilot programme of an initiative titled “Digital architecture transformation in local governments in Bangladesh.”

This programme was part of an initiative to implement the Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041, directed by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and implemented by a2i, ICT Division under the advice of Khairuzzaman Liton.

Five Public Financial Management (holding tax, trade license, various types of certificates such as nationality certificate, rickshaw/van license, electricity) of local government institutes "Digital architecture transformation in local governments in Bangladesh" with the aim of smart transformation of services related to different types of bills (including gas) is planned to be implemented in Rajshahi.

The first day of the 3-day workshop was held on 23 April, 2024 in Rajshahi with the participation of about 60 people in the Smart Service Transformation and Process Design and Information workshop to implement the piloting activities of the initiative.

This initiative will help implement the piloting programme in Rajshahi City Corporation, Zilla Parishad, Upazila Parishad, Municipality and five Union Parishads.

Chief e-Governance of a2i, ICT Division is the chief coordinator of the initiative.

In the workshop narrated by Chief e-Governance of a2i, ICT Division Dr Forhad Zahid Shaikh Smart service transformation and process design and piloting activities are detailed. Later, public representatives of local government institutes, service receivers, service providers, industry, and academia gave feedback.

Honorable mayor, chairman, members, councillors, chief executive officers, secretaries of Rajshahi City Corporation, Rajshahi Zilla Parishad, Paba Upazila Parishad, Charghat Municipality/Upazila Parishad, Katakhali Municipality and Parila, Haripur, Harian, Hujripara and Union were present in the workshop.

System analysts were also present along with officials from a2i ICT Division.
