World Vision Bangladesh, an international humanitarian organisation, has launched 10 new Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials, aiming to prevent child marriage.

The launching ceremony was held at BRAC Centre in the capital on Monday, a press release said.

Representatives from World Vision Bangladesh’s alliances and network members, development partners, and representatives from civil society organisations were present in the ceremony.

The SBCC materials were launched targeting 10 specific audience groups, including parents, teachers, adolescent boys and girls, youth, religious leaders, police and local government representatives, who are strongly related to child marriage, read the release.

The organisation said these kinds of innovative SBCC materials will influence to bring changes in the behavioural patterns and mindsets of people regarding the social issue, it said.

World Vision Bangladesh Director (Advocacy and Communications) Tony Micheal said, “Alone we can't win this battle against child marriage. World Vision believes that if we are united and act together, we will be able to make Bangladesh free from child marriage. Let’s consider these as weapons, use them appropriately and make the country free from this curse.”
