A Supreme Court lawyer has filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking directives to expedite the process of coronavirus testing and delivering results.
Moniruzzaman Lincoln filed a writ petition in the virtual high court bench of Justice JBM Hasan on Sunday.
The secretary of the health ministry and the director general of the health department have been made respondents at the petition.
The petitioner said a person having symptoms does not know whether he or she is infected with the virus until they receive the report. Coronavirus may spread through infected persons if they do not get test reports within a short time. Therefore, if the reports are provided quickly then the Covid-19 positive persons can stay detached from others."
