A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking action against two police officers who posted pictures of Shipra Debnath on Facebook.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Monoj Kumar Bhowmik filed the writ on Sunday.
‘The High Court is likely to hear the writ within this week,” said Monoj Kumar Bhowmik to The Business Post.
Shipra Debnath, a student of Stamford University and a crew member of slain Maj (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, has fallen victim to cyberbullying recently.
On August 14, Satkhira superintendent of police Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman posted pictures of some of Shipra's personal moments on Facebook.
Later, a similar post was made by Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Shelley, SP (Dhaka Metro -- South) of the Police Bureau of Investigation. Besides, He tried to justify the case filed against Shipra by sharing similar photos of her.
