A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directives to declare the name of the Padma Bridge as 'Sheikh Hasina Bridge'.
Advocate Kamruzzaman Shadin confirmed the matter to the media saying he filed the writ petition on Wednesday.
Authorities concern of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has been made respondents in the writ petition.
Earlier on January 3, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said Padma Bridge will open to the public by June next year.
