A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directives on the authorities concerned to refund money collected from patients by Regent Hospital.
Director of Children Charity Bangladesh Foundation (CCBF), Ishrat Hasan filed the writ petition on Sunday and requested the court ask Regent to give Tk 25,000 as interim relief to patients who were deceived with fake reports.
“The High Court may virtually hold a hearing on the writ petition any day within this week,” said Advocate Ishrat Hasan to the Business Post.
Earlier on July 19, a Supreme Court lawyer sent a legal notice to the government and Regent Hospital authorities asking them to give Tk 10 lakh in compensation to each of the victims who received fake Covid-19 certificates issued by the hospital.
