Police have recovered the mutilated body of a young man from a septic tank of a mosque in Dhaka's Dakshinkhan area.
The body of the deceased, identified as Azharul Islam, 30, was found in six pieces inside the septic tank of Sardarbari Jame Mosque on Monday.
Confirming the matter, Dakshinkhan police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anuj Sarkar said Azharul worked as an operator in a garment factory and lived in the Dakshinkhan area with his family.
He had been missing since last Thursday.
The imam of the mosque has been detained on suspicion of being involved in the murder.
