Police recovered a decomposed body of an unidentified youth from a multi-storied building located at Ashulia of Savar last night.
The decomposed body was found inside a drum packed in a sack from a toilet of a room on the third floor of a five-storey building in Ashulia’s Jamgara area on Saturday night.
Police are yet to confirm the identity of the victim as the body was fully decomposed.
Quoting other tenants of the building, police said a person named Anwar of Noakhali had been living in the room as a tenant for 7 to 8 months. However, he remained missing after the incident and his phone was found switched off.
As the neighbours noticed a bad smell coming from the room, they informed the house owner. The house owner then informed the police.
Quazi Naser, sub-inspector of Ashulia police station said police recovered the body and sent it to Suhrawardy Hospital morgue.
A case was filed with Ashulia police station in this connection.
