Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Zhao Leji sent a congratulatory message to Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on her assumption of office as speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament.
In the message, Zhao Leji said that China and Bangladesh are neighbours with a long history of friendship. In recent years, the two countries have conducted frequent high-level exchanges, constantly enhanced political mutual trust, and yielded fruitful results in Belt and Road cooperation.
Zhao added that he would like to work together with his Bangladeshi counterpart to further deepen the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the National People's Congress of China and the Bangladesh Parliament to uplift the China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation to a new height.
