Bangladesh exports software to 80 countries, says Jabbar

Bangladesh now exports software to 80 countries around the world worth a billion dollar, Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said on Monday.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the launching ceremony of ‘Automation of CA Examination System Software’ organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Bangladesh (ICAB) in Dhaka.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sowed the seeds of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ by establishing a satellite center in Betbunia, forming a T&T board, gaining membership of the International Telecommunications and Universal Postal Union, and nationalizing primary education, Jabbar said.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continued with her father’s progress, and with her visionary leadership has taken ‘Digital Bangladesh’ into new heights, he added.

ICAB’s 19 digitalization projects have so far attained 75 per cent success, said speakers at the event.

The minister praised ICAB for attaining 75 per cent success in its 19 digitalization projects and called for digitalization of the entire organization.
