Good women borrowers to be incentivised

Both the women entrepreneurs and borrowers each will get one per cent incentive if the CMSME loans are repaid on time, said a central bank notice issued on Tuesday.

The country’s banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) will have to apply to the Bangladesh Bank (BB) for the incentive if their disbursed Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (CMSME) loans are repaid in time.

The notice said that the BB introduced the incentive to boost women entrepreneurs of the country.

The loans, disbursed between July 1, 2021 and December 31, 2024, will be eligible for the latest facility.
