The president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Md Jashim Uddin, has urged all the neighbouring countries to work together for securing maximum benefits from the 4th Industrial Revolution.
He made the call at a virtual programme titled “Future of India-South Asia 4th IR Partnerships” organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry on Wednesday.
Attending the programme, Jashim has said, “Because of its geographical location, Bangladesh can also act as a regional hub to establish a link among the South Asian nations in this regard.”
“Bangladesh is flourishing in different ways as the country has launched its own satellite, apart from its booming mobile banking services, e-payment, e-commerce and f-commerce, smart health card and wide use of modern technologies in the industrial sector,” said Jashim.
The FBCCI president also noted that Bangladesh ranks 57th of global digital platforms, which is 4th among the South Asian countries. Because of the government’s updated policies and spontaneous participation of all wake of life, the country is now ready to fully grab the possible opportunities from the 4th industrial revolution.
“We all (South Asian countries) should work together to reap the maximum benefits from information technology,” Jashim also added.
Mentioning that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the independence of Bangladesh and also the birth centenary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the FBCCI president also thanked India for its cooperation during the war of independence in 1971.
The programme was virtually addressed, among others, by Sri Lankan state minister for Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya, FICCI South Asia Regional Council chair Manoj Chugh, CEO of South Asia Niki Frank and Bhutanese NGN technology CEO Nirpa Raj Rai.
