Free health camp for tannery workers held

Several hundred tannery workers received health advice from physicians during a dedicated free health camp at Hemayetpur of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Tannery Workers’ Union organized the health camp in cooperation with the American Center for International Labor Solidarity (Solidarity Center), said a press release.

The workers were also provided with free medicine based on consultation from medicine and skin specialists.

Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mazharul Islam inaugurated the health support where among others BTWU president Abul Kalam Azad, Bangladesh Tanners’ Association Secretary General Md Sakhawat Ullah, Apex Tannery Ltd Executive Director MA Mazed and BTWU general secretary Abdul Malek among others were present.
