Rani becomes Guinness World Records’ ‘shortest cow ever’

The Guinness World Records has named dwarf cow Rani as the “shortest cow ever” over a month after her death.

The cow measuring 50.8 cm (1 ft 8 in) was verified in Dhaka on July 4, 2021, said Guinness on its website.

Rani, born on August 7, 2019, was a miniature Bhutti cow.

She was owned by Kazi Abu Sufian and raised in Shikor Agro Industries Limited in Charigram of Savar.

Thousands of people went to the farm to take selfies with Rani after videos and images of its stature went viral in 2021.

Rani died on August 19 due to excessive gas accumulation in the stomach.

Before Rani, the “shortest cow ever” title was held by Manikyam from Kerala in India. It measured 61.1 cm (24.07 in).
