Switzerland proposes aviation agreement with Bangladesh

Switzerland has formally requested the government of Bangladesh to sign an aviation agreement between the two countries.

Swiss ambassador to Bangladesh Nathalie Chuard handed over her country’s official proposal to the state minister for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali during a meeting at the latter’s secretariat office on Wednesday.

“Switzerland wants to sign an agreement to mark the 50 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and also to increase bilateral trade and commerce, including tourism,” said the Swiss envoy. The ambassador also expressed her country’s keen interest in working together to boost the tourism industries in both the two countries.

The state minister Mahbub Ali said, “Switzerland’s proposal to sign an aviation agreement will be implemented in a timely manner after maintaining all the procedures.”

“The signing of the proposed agreement between the two countries will increase communication between the two countries while the bilateral trade and commerce will also be enhanced,” said the state minister.
