Academic activities, including classes, of University of Information Technology and Sciences in Dhaka will resume on October 10 after a long gap of suspension caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The university authorities took the decision at a syndicate meeting on Tuesday, according to a press release.
The academic activities will be conducted as per the instructions of the government and the University Grants Commission maintaining health rules amid the pandemic, read the release.
According to the ICT cell of UITS, 95 per cent of the students, teachers, officials and employees received two or at least one Covid jab or registered for vaccine shots. UITS is the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh. It was founded on August 7, 2003, as a non-profit organisation.
The university is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organisations.
