Cox’s Bazar to get direct flights from across country: Mahbub Ali

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mohammad Mahbub Ali has said the tourist town of Cox’s Bazar is being connected to different parts of the country by air.

He was speaking at a press conference in Cox’s Bazar after the launching of direct flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on the Saidpur-Cox’s Bazar-Saidpur route on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the state minister presided over the inaugural event of the flight at Saidpur Airport.

As part of the plan to connect Cox’s Bazar, direct flights had been launched on the Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar route recently and the Saidpur-Cox’s Bazar route on Thursday, he said.

He added that the launching of direct flights on the Saidpur-Cox’s Bazar-Saidpur route would enable tourists from the northern part of the country to fly directly to Cox’s Bazar and vice versa.

Passengers will receive this service by travelling by the modern fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, he further said.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate direct flights from Saidpur to Cox’s Bazar every Thursday at 9:20am, and from Cox’s Bazar to Saidpur every Saturday at 1:25pm.
