JS body for giving 'Silver Medal' to each FF

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs Ministry on Sunday recommended to give a 'Silver medal' to each Freedom Fighter (FF) with his own Liberation War number remembering their heroic contribution during the great Liberation War.

The JS body came up with the suggestion at its 23th meeting at the parliament complex here with its chairman Shajahan Khan in the chair, a release said.

Committee members Liberation Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Kazi Firoz Rashid, Rajiuddin Ahmed and Moslem Uddin Ahmed attended the meeting.

The parliamentary watchdog suggested sending a summary of the land of Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the report of regional price of the wealth to sell it to the Ministry of Finance.

Besides, recommendation has been made to visit the wealth of Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust at Chattogram, it

added.

At the beginning of the meeting, the committee congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for being honoured with the "SDGs Progress Award" in recognition of Bangladesh's achievements in sustainable development from 2015 to 2020.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, heads of various agencies and concerned officials of the ministry and the JS secretariat.
