Bangladesh has reported three new deaths from Covid-19 in a day, taking the total to 27,873.
The Covid caseload stood at 15,69,982 as 229 people tested positive for the disease in the 24 hours to 8 am on Tuesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The positivity rate slightly increased to 1.14 per cent from Monday’s 1.08 per cent.
With this, the daily-case positivity rate in the country remained below 5 per cent for the 43rd consecutive day.
In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak of 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 20,031 samples at 833 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,03,89,635 samples.
Meanwhile, 211 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,33,836.
All three fatalities were females.
Dhaka division logged the highest deaths with two fatalities followed by one in Chattogram.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 247,968,680 and the death toll to 5,023,124 till Tuesday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
