Bangladesh reports one death, 273 new cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh registered one Covid-19 related death and 273 new infections in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 27,981 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.38 per cent on Tuesday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,76,284 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 19,802 samples at 848 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,08,88,751 samples.

Meanwhile, 368 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,40,965. Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, Global covid cases reached 262,295,087 while registering 5,210,524 deaths.
