Covid: Bangladesh logs 6 deaths, 277 cases

Bangladesh registered six more Covid-19 related deaths and 277 new infections in the past 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,016 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.35 per cent on Thursday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,78,288, said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 20,549 samples at 848 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,10,41,406 samples.

At the same time, 296 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,43,204.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, the global Covid case reached 2,67,291, 781 and death reached 5,274,404.
