Amitosh, Shohel, Rashad win UDJFB election

Amitosh Pal of Daily Samakal, Shohel Mamun of Dhaka Tribune and Rashad Ahamad of The Business Post have been elected as new president,

general secretary and finance secretary respectively of the Urban Development Journalists’ Forum, Bangladesh (UDJFB).

Election Commissioner Matin Abdullah presided over the bi-annual meeting and declared the new committee on Saturday following a general meeting held at a city hotel. The new committee have been elected for the 2022-2023 term.

Besides, KM Saifullah of Daily Naya Diganta elected as vice-president, Faisal Khan of Daily Somoyer Alo as joint-secretary, Hasan Emon of Daily Pratidiner Sangbad as organizing secretary, Yasin Rana of Daily Inqilab as office secretary, Rashidul Hasan of The Daily Sun as publicity and publication secretary, Billal Hossain of RTV as welfare secretary, Masud Rana of BTV as training and research secretary.

Newly elected five executive members are Zafar Iqbal of Daily Sangram, Sazida Islam Parul of Daily Samakal, Nure Alam Ziku of Manab Zamin, Faruk Alam of RTV and Jahura Akhter of Sadakalo News.

Over 100 members of the forum who reports focused on urban infrastructure development, housing, sanitation, transport, environment and public utilities were present at the meeting.

Newly elected committee of UDJFB will work for capacity building of its reporters for writing more investigative, impactful and analytical reports on urban issues.
