Covid-19 Bangladesh reports 1 more death, 211 new infections

Bangladesh registered one more Covid-related death and 211 new infections in the last 24 hours until Sunday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached 28,048 while the positivity rate stood at 1.22 per cent.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,81,083 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 17,332 samples at 848 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 1,12,66,074 samples.

At the same time, 168 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,45,571.

Meanwhile, the global Covid cases reached 274,311,390 and fatalities reached 5,351,786.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
