Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury on Monday said his ministry will perform its duties properly to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and materialize ‘Vision 2041’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“We have to give our best efforts in the next two years. We can work by bringing our work under a rating system. If there is a five-star rating, we have to try to get the five star,” he said.

The minister made the remarks at an interaction with the ministry officials on the occasion of getting the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award-2020, said a press release. Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman was present at the meeting.

Urging the ministry officials to think about the country’s interest, the land minister said “We have to think first about what we have done for the country, not what the country did for us”.

The Land Ministry has been awarded the United Nations Public Service Award-2020 as the ever first organization in Bangladesh under the ‘Developing Transparent and Accountable Public Institutions’ category.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury received the award on behalf of the ministry in a function organized by the United Nations (UN) in Dubai on December 13.
