Three state-owned banks get new MDs

The government has appointed new managing directors in three state-owned specialised banks- Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) and Karmasangsthan Bank (Employment Bank).

Financial Institutions Division of the Finance Ministry issued two notifications regarding the appointments on Sunday.

Former Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) Managing Director Md Ismail Hossain, was appointed as MD of Bangladesh Krishi Bank while Md Abdul Mannan, former MD of the Employment Bank was appointed at RAKUB. Besides, Shirin Akhter, ex-managing director of BKB was made MD of Karmasangsthan Bank (Employment Bank).

The circular on the appointment of Shirin Akhtar stated that under section 49 of the Public Service Act, 2017, Shirin, who recently retired from the post of Managing Director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank, has been suspended on condition of Post-Retirement Leave (PRL). She got a contractual appointment for two years.
