The officials of state-owned banks, who are residents of 16 upazilas in country’s haor, island and shoal (Char) areas, will get separate allowance monthly.
The bank officials will get minimum Tk 1,650 to maximum Tk 5,000 as per their grades, according to a notification issued by the Financial Institutions Division under the Finance Ministry, recently.
Officials of 20th, 19th, 18th, 17th, 16th, 15th, 14th, 13th, 12nd, 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th, grades will get Tk 1,650, Tk 1,700, Tk 1,760, Tk 1,800, Tk1,860, Tk 1,940, Tk 2040, Tk 2,200, Tk 2,260, Tk 2,500, Tk 3,200, 4,400, and Tk 4,600 as allowance, respectively.
Besides, officials of first to seventh grade will get Tk 5,000, said the notification that will come into effect from the current month. All state-owned banks have been informed the matter.
Bank officials said this allowance will bring comfort to the bank employees of haor, island, shoal areas. The same facility should be implemented for private bank officials as well, they insisted.
Earlier in 2019, cabinet division issued a gazette notification announcing 16 upazilas as haor, island and shoal areas considering the communication, medical, education and other benefits.
The 16 upazilas are Itna, Mithamoin and Asthagram of Kishoreganj, Sandwip of Chattogram, Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazar, Hatiya of Noakhali, Chowhali of Sirajganj, Rowmari and Char Rajibpur in Kurigram, Rangabali in Patuakhali, Monpura of Bhola, Dharmapasha Shalla and Dowarabazar in Sunamganj, Ajmiriganj in Habiganj and Khaliajuri of Netrakona.
