Man killed after being hit by crane in Ctg Port

A yard checker was killed when a crane hit him amid dense fog in the early hours of Wednesday at Chittagong port.

The deceased was identified as Sifat Rabbi, a yard checker and popular food blogger.

A crane hit him while he was working in the yard of the port killing him on the spot, said Mohammad Omar Faruque, secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority.

According to sources, Sifat joined at the Chittagong port as an outdoor assistant after his father Abdul Awal who also worked in the port, died in 2019.

He was also a former student of the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).
