DIFE to launch online licencing to ease service delivery

The Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), an entity of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is going to launch online licencing for factories, shops, and organisations to simplify services.

Shop, factory, and organisation owners can easily get and renew licences on the website of the Labour Inspection Management Application (LIMA). They have to follow specific instructions for this.

The DIFE in association with GIZ organised a two-day workshop on Wednesday and Thursday where DIFE officials, including its inspector general, the joint inspector general, and the deputy inspector general, were taught how to navigate the LIMA website easily. The participants received practical knowledge and advice on online licencing and renewal systems.

DIFE Inspector General Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed said, “We have planned to enhance and ease many services, such as factory inspection, receiving licence fees, and issuing licences.”

“An orientation programme in collaboration with factory owners has already been organised to implement LIMA. Through LIMA, all important activities, including managing databases on factories and labour, will be gradually completed,” he said.

This will reduce bureaucratic complexities faced by the DIFE and factory owners, he added.
