Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam joined the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) as the vice chancellor on April 5.
Commissioned in the Corps of Infantry of Bangladesh Army on December 21, 1990, Major General Mahbub completed various professional courses at home and abroad.
He did his PhD on security and strategic studies from the BUP, got MPhil degree on strategy and development studies from the BUP, and obtained two master degrees – Master in Defence Studies from National University and Master of Social Science in Security and Development Studies from the BUP, said an ISPR release.
Major General Mahbub was also graduated from the Defense Services Command and Staff College, completed Staff Officers Logistics Orientation Course from Turkey, and Army Brigade Commanders Course from International Military Exchange Center, China where he was turned up as the best performer.
In his career, Maj Gen Mahbub served as General Staff Officer (Third Grade and First Grade) at the Army Headquarters and as Brigade Major in an operational brigade in Chittagong Hill Tracts.
He also took part in Operation Naf Rakkha and later in the Operation Purba Prachir as the commanding officer of an infantry battalion.
